Here's a video I made awhile back, about clipping cats' claws. I have always clipped my cats' claws and I've been doing this for at least35 years. In this video, I clipped Taco, Mango, and Bella's claws, but not Sumari's because she is a wild and crazy girl who climbs trees like a squirrel and I think it would be safer for her to have sharp claws.
