Smoka The Cat Survives 26 Days Buried Under Rubble

This is just an amazing story: On August 10th, the three-story apartment building where Sandy LaPierre lived burned to the ground. The building burned for six hours, five gas lines erupted, and the fire department used 30,000 gallons of water to put the fire out.
Twenty-six days later, as a 40,000 pound backhoe cleared debris from the site, a worker noticed a cat's head in the rubble. They proceeded to clear the area by hand and pulled Smoka, by then stiff and weighing only four pounds, from the mess.  Smoka could just barely move her head, and she was rushed to the Krebs Kohler Minnix  veterinary clinic where she was treated for dehydration and lacerations.  She was reunited with her ecstatic mommy a few hours later!
