Missing Cats, Sadness, Hurricane, And Why I Have Been Neglecting My Blog

Mango disappeared  two weeks ago. I know he's gone forever.  He's helpless. He doesn't hunt or climb trees and he has a habit of putting himself in danger and then just staring off into space. Mango is my cat. He adores me, or did anyway. Now he's gone.  We had ten years together. He was going to be "put to sleep" because his owner died and nobody wanted him.
And then there's Bella.  She only wants a place to hang out when the weather is bad and when she's hungry, so she takes off for days at a time. But she hasn't been around for more than two weeks now, and she didn't even come home when the hurricane hit.  So maybe she's gone forever too.
We were without power for three days, which really isn't bad considering that a lot of folks are still without power a week later.  Seven trees came down near our house, but there was no damage. Nothing like a gigantic tree falling over in the yard to get your heart racing though.
With Mango gone and Bella probably gone too, I really don't feel like posting on my blog anymore.  I'm thinking of deleting it altogether. I so miss Mango, he purred every time I got near him and always looked at me like I was his world.  Nobody else loves me like that. Bella got real lovable over the winter, and I love her too, but I always knew that her heart was in the great outdoors and she would stay on the wild side.
We still have Taco and Sumari.  Taco is always happy and loves everybody, and Sumari is independent, but she loves her humans too.
I'm not sure what I'll do with the blog, but if it's just gone one day, you'll know why.

  3. I can imagine your heartbreak because many years ago I had a similar situation with 3 cats disappearing within one month. We only had 3. It was awful and I feel so much in my heart for your sorrow. You will know what's best to do, but I encourage you to put up an "on vacation, back later" sign so you can make a decision when you feel better. Your followers will wait for you. Hugs, purrs and many many good thoughts from our house to yours.

  5. I know only too well the sadness you're feeling. I am so sorry for your loss. It's hard enough to lose one, but to have both Mango and Bella missing, it must be heartbreaking. I know when I lost each of my 3 pets over the past 4 years I had no stomach for blogging either. I would suggest you don't delete it altogether, just leave this post up which explains it all, and take the time you need to heal your heart. Take care

  6. I am soooo sorry to hear about your loss. They are like our children and it literally breaks our hearts with the loss. I lost my English Bulldog about 7 months ago and it still hurts. Take care

  7. Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear that two are missing. That is horrible. But please don't give up. I had a cat go missing and came back after 3 whole months. I wish I had gotten her earlier. I have been too busy to get to Entrecard. We are sending tons of purrs that they both come home. Be sure to look where you used to live. Cats have been known to go a long ways. I am so sorry.

  8. I'm so sorry! It is amazing how dear our furry loved ones are to us and it is so sad to hear they have vanished. I will pray for their safety, whereever they are, and hope that they return home to you.
